Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI), a world-renowned provider of high-performance signal processing solutions, recently launched two high-performance RF passive mixers, designed for various wireless applications, including cellular base station receivers and transmitters. Observation receivers and wireless link downconverters, etc. These applications often have strict requirements for high linearity and low noise, and traditional mixer solutions often rely on external components such as baluns and matching components, resulting in increased design complexity and great challenges for engineers. Analog Devices’ new single-channel ADL5353 and dual-channel ADL5354 integrated passive mixers simplify the design process and provide industry-leading performance while completing the company’s portfolio by expanding the frequency coverage of ADI’s mixer product line Broad portfolio of mixers.
The single-channel ADL5353 mixer and dual-channel ADL5354 mixer operate in the 2300 to 2900MHz frequency range and have extremely high integration. They include built-in RF baluns, LO switches for dual-channel LO frequency applications, LO drivers and integrated IF amplifiers. The integration of the balun enables single-ended drive of the RF signal, while the integrated IF amplifier provides the necessary gain, eliminating the need for external gain stage circuitry. The ADL5353 and ADL5354 provide excellent IP3 and noise figure performance, achieving excellent spurious-free dynamic range. These mixers also provide excellent noise figure performance in environments with strong interfering signals. The high spurious-free dynamic range and low noise figure under blocker interference make these mixers suitable for receiver operation in environments with strong interfering signals. The 5V (nominal) ADL5353 and ADL5354 can also operate from a 3.3V supply voltage in power-sensitive applications.
